Summary:
Using the principles of relationship-based therapy models within a family centered approach, the Pediatric Social Worker/Counselor will develop and carry out interventions designed to improve a child’s ability to function and enhance activities of daily living for the child and their family.
Basic Responsibilities:
Duties include but not limited to:
- Using a family centered model, build an appropriate and professional relationship with children and families requiring services.
- Develop written treatment plans based upon the participant’s individual needs.
- Conduct child assessments, as well as re-assessments, assessing skill levels of children utilizing criterion referenced or standardized tests outlined by the program.
- Develop and carry out treatment plans designed to improve the function of the child’s behaviors and meet the individual needs for each family.
- Schedule and conduct individualized sessions with child and family on agreed upon frequency.
- Conduct social skills groups designed to increase pro social skills in the peer group environment.
- Promote family involvement, advocacy, and support family decisions through involvement and provision of both individual and group family training.
- Schedule and participate in family, team and staff planning meetings, to include developing outcomes and goals.
- Ensure effective data collection is carried out and regularly maintained per requirements and reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide direct services through the Easterseals Regional Medical/Autism Diagnostic Clinic as assigned by the Medical Diagnostic and Autism Program Coordinator.
- Complete billing records as required using an electronic medical record system
- Maintain supplies and materials used in good condition.
- Assist in the coordination of services and make appropriate referrals as needed utilizing all available resources in our service area.
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in social work, psychology, professional counseling or related field
Ability to obtain LSW
ABA experience
Experience with children with disabilities and their families
