What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter (Part-time) position at Eastmont School District?
Hours : per Day : 2.5

Duties & Requirements :
- Provide support for student in all academic areas and specific educational activities
- American Sign Language fluency for translation and interpreting for the purpose of communicating with student preferred; must receive a fluent rating on American Sign Language proficiency portion of interview.
- Shadow student during transition periods.
- Monitor student throughout the school day.
- Ability to work with students within the parameters of the individualized education plan.
- Perform classroom assistant duties in assigned student's classroom.
- Previous work experience with hearing impaired students desired.
- Willing and able to be nurturing, firm, and consistent.
- Provide positive feedback to students.
- Work with any student to promote success in the school setting.
- Possess the ability to work closely with and under the direction of the Speech Language Pathologist and classroom teacher; willingness to learn new instructional strategies.
- Possess the ability to anticipate teacher and / or student needs, and work independently in meeting those needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality a must.
