SUMMARY: Assists with the daily functions of the business department. This includes, but is not limited to, processes such as creating and analyzing reports, Monitoring Skyward input, accounts receivable and projects as assigned. Compensation based on experience and qualifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for account receivables.
2. Maintains surveillance of budget line items to prevent over-expenditures.
3. Communicate with schools regarding budget transfers if accounts are overdrawn. Make all necessary budget transfers in accordance with Pennsylvania statutes to balance the budget.
4. Monthly Bank Reconciliations with the exception of the Payroll and General accounts.
5. Reconciliation of four Tax Accounts.
6. Reconciliation of Cafeteria reports.
7. Assist Payroll Officer with the monthly audit of payroll payments to benefit vendors such as Capital BC, Vision and Union Dues.
8. Maintains district vendor list in the financial system.
9. Complete invoice approvals daily.
10. Assist business personal in completing conference requests, travel expenses,
tuition reimbursement & manual check requests.
11. Responsible for all functions related to the student Activity Accounting module. This includes, but is not limited to, creating reports & serving as a point of contact for the schools.
12. Handles reconciliation and distribution of all scholarship accounts.
13. Run all Checks and Direct deposit pre-notes and payments.
14. Maintain Source 4 Teachers’ chart and payments.
15. Responsible for the PURTA report and submission.
16. Upload annual 1099’s.
17. Responsible for all voids and reissues.
18. Performs any other essential duties as requested by the Chief Financial Officer for the orderly and daily conduct of business associated with the department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associates Degree in Accounting or Business preferred. 2-3 years of progressively responsible related experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
2. Ability to analyze and interpret policy and procedures.
3. Advanced knowledge of computer spreadsheets and other appropriate applications.
4. Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable procedures.
5. Excellent organizational skills.
6. Must demonstrate successful oral and written communication skills in a highly client service atmosphere.
The successful candidate will be required to provide the following documents: Act 34 PSP Criminal Record Check, Act 114 FBI Criminal History Check, Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance, and the Act 24/82 PDE 6004 form.
