Job Summary:
As a Foreman you will lead and organize your crew for optimum performance and production and interface with customers and crew to create exceptional working relationships. Manage client expectations to ensure we always over deliver for our clients. Manage, support, train and develop crew members. Create a safe, cohesive environment for all team members own and perpetuate.
You will also maintain an organized job from start to finish and consistently deliver a timely and quality product to our clients. Our culture will be one of integrity, safety, quality, and a desire for everyone to succeed through strong collaboration. Train crew members with the intent of them becoming Foreman at some point in the future.
Position Responsibilities:
The Foreman reports to the Superintendent and is responsible for a wide variety of duties specific to completing a job. All duties are specific to their role in the system and its efficiency.
- Safety: Follow safety procedures to always ensure safety of self and crew.
- Crew Support: Move trucks and trailers to job sites, take job materials to job sites.
- Materials: Manage job material supply/delivery for jobs, reduce waste on jobs, and procure occasional supplies. Manage trucks and all tools within the vehicles and shop
- Time/Payroll: Review time sheets for crew, ensure that time is turned in on time and the timecard is filled out accurately, pull time records and assign cost codes, schedule & coordinate work schedules with superintendent, control costs as best possible
- Training: Ability to train and delegate tasks to your team to do the job properly and create efficiency whenever possible.
- Scheduling: Pre plan each day’s jobs and resources the day before. Includes crew, builder coordination, layout, inspections, concrete, and pump. Stay on top of the schedule and adjust accordingly as early as possible. Be flexible and roll with changes as required.
- Study Plans: Review and study plans of going to the job site.
- Quality Assurance & Quality Control: Customer satisfaction, self-satisfaction for you and the crew come from quality control. Do things right the first time.
- Problem Solving: You will solve problems all day long, technical, crew, logistical, customer and many other types. Plan to the best of your ability and solve problems as they arise.
- Stocking Trucks/Trailers – Keeping trucks and trailers organized, stocked (including safety supplies) and ready for deployment to job.
- Other: Periodic or occasional tasks or responsibilities as assigned or required may include, but are not limited to:
o Assisting in safety meetings, safety review and safety training
o Assist in estimates, planning and scheduling for the company
o Facilitate equipment/facility repairs
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License (required)
- CDL Class B (preferred)
- OSHA 10 or 30
- Equipment Training Certificates
- Education: High school diploma or GED (minimum)
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in concrete construction. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Computer literate, with the ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
