What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Mechanic - B position at Easton Motors, Inc?
The B Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned following dealer and factory standards and builds guest loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence in Easton Motors and Goodyear Tire Service Center as caregivers for their vehicle safety and reliability.
Essential Duties
- Performing vehicle repair and maintenance within a reasonable time frame and as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy following dealership and factory standards that exceed guest expectations.
- Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Writers regularly effectively to manage production and guest communication.
- Assist and consult with other automotive service technicians in working through challenging problems.
- Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by the guest.
- Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
- Comply with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policy, regarding safeguarding all customer vehicles, property and information.
- Communicate with Master Technician when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
- Take care to ensure that customer’s vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
- Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees.
- Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
- Observes and follows all necessary safety regulations when operating machinery, equipment, and tools and correctly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- B Technicians are to achieve targeted production, sales, and guest satisfaction.
- Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools to continuously expand on knowledge of new technology.
- Understand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, and OSHA Right to Know.
- Perform any other duties either necessary for guest service or perceived by or assigned to the job.
Education:
- High school degree or GED preferred but not required
Experience:
- 2-3 years of industry experience specifically related to automotive repair
- Demonstrated ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented environment, with the ability to be adaptable, and dependable with a strong work ethic
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Valid Class D driver’s license required
- Air conditioning certification preferred

- General hand and power tools required to be provided
