What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long Term Sub - Athletic Director position at Easton Public Schools?
The Long Term Sub Athletic Director provides leadership for the coaches, students, and staff involved in Oliver Ames athletic programs. Under the direct supervision of the high school principal and in accordance with School Committee policy, the Athletic Director manages and enhances programming for both Oliver Ames High School athletic program and the Easton Middle School extracurricular athletic department.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
*Budget management: collaboration with the Director of Finance to manage the athletics budget and ensure the payment of athletic fees, funding plans for field expansion, repairs, and replacement of equipment and facilities; coordinate private and public fundraising efforts for capital projects.
*Policy and Procedures: ensure compliance of all EPS policies including the school and student-athlete handbook, MIAA rules and regulations, and Massachusetts General Laws; support coaches and athletes in upholding the Core Values of the Easton Public schools.
*Equipment/facilities management: Identify and purchase equipment and uniform needs for each team; collaborate with school and town maintenance staff to maintain grounds and equipment, and schedule safety checks; oversee reservation and usage of athletic facilities by school teams and outside organizations.
*Event management: schedule contests, officials, buses, game administrators, and police details; ensure coaches, athletes, and spectators comply with policies and regulations; manage ticket sales and gate access; monitor and manage crowd behavior, and ensure a safe environment at all athletic venues.
*Coaching staff: recruit, hire, train, supervise, develop, support, mentor, and evaluate the coaching staff.
*Communication: communicate timelines and requirements for student registration, share expectations and schedules with coaches and athletes, maintain a positive and visible social media presence to promote all athletics, and regularly update the athletics website and athletic alumni records. Present information and/or answer questions as necessary to the School Committee and/or community organizations.
*Professional Organizations: Participate in regular Hockomock League meetings, MIAA meetings and committees, MSSADA Athletic Director conference, and enroll in MIAA accreditation programs for ongoing education (CAA, CMAA).
*Public relations: Establish positive public relations with athletes, parents, administration and media; maintain and develop positive image of the OA brand; support and attend events for all sports teams; interface with and provide general guidance to boosters to identify funding support needs for teams.
