Title: Machias - Full-Time Referrals Coordinator

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities
- Learn all aspects of patient referral processes and managed care referrals
- Develop efficient communication with insurance vendors and service providers by means of phone, internet, fax, or portal to ensure the timeliest correspondents
- Complete prior authorizations, and create and maintain portal accounts with each insurance company as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on behalf of the patient with scheduling and service needs
- Respond to patient requests and answer questions regarding referral-related business
- Analyze referrals for completeness; scan/upload into the electronic health record (EHR), attach supporting documents
- Collaborate with healthcare providers with a professional and efficient approach.
- Assist patients in qualifying for the Patient Assist Programs.
- High school diploma
- Have courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable computer and phone skills
- Prior experience with health insurance is desired but not essential
- Ability to work closely with all staff members to provide prompt and efficient service to patients
- Physical requirements include keyboard operation and sitting for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 25 lbs. and have visual acuity for extended periods of monitor operation. Ability to negotiate stairways
