Housekeeping/Laundry Attendant - Part Time

Job Summary

Eastridge Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time Housekeeper & Laundry Attendant to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control in our long-term care facility.

Schedule & Hours

• Part-time position with a maximum of 29.5 hours per week.
• Maximum 59 hours bi-weekly.
• Must be available for weekends and holidays as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping Duties

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas daily.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect all designated areas.
• Remove trash and dispose of waste per infection control procedures.
• Restock housekeeping supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals according to facility guidelines.
• Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and emergency cleaning requests.
• Assist with deep-cleaning projects as needed.

Laundry Duties

• Collect, sort, and wash resident clothing and facility linens.
• Dry, fold, and return laundry to proper storage or resident rooms.
• Inspect laundry for stains or damage and take appropriate actions.
• Maintain proper machine usage and routine equipment cleaning.
• Label and track resident clothing to prevent loss or mix-ups.

Qualifications & Skills

• 1-2 years of housekeeping and/or laundry experience in a long-term care, hospital, or healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and proper chemical handling in a healthcare environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and professionalism when interacting with residents, staff, and visitors.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs as needed.
