Job Tittle: CNC Mill Machine Operator
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time, 1st Shift, Flexible Start Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, check routine programs, operate, and adjust automatic or semi-automatic numerically controlled machines and CNC equipment for standard or repetitive tasks, ensuring close tolerance and finish standards are met.
- Identify and apply appropriate tools and fixtures while following proven program formats.
- Interpret detailed part drawings and specifications related to applications, coding, arrangements, and settings.
- Note and report any discrepancies from specifications.
- Assist with program prove-outs for new or critical work, under supervision.
- Suggest improvements for tooling, fixture arrangements, and operation sequencing.
- Set up equipment and instruct Machine Operators of lower classifications on previous programs.
- Use a variety of precision measuring instruments to ensure quality and accuracy.
Position Requirements:
- A general understanding of machine shop practices, machine operation, and tooling, typically gained through up to 2 years of experience or equivalent.
- Proficiency in standard office equipment and basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher).
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach while performing job duties, including walking or standing on concrete for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Visual abilities required include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
