We are seeking a CNC Programmer for a company specializing in precision aerospace components. This role serves as a critical link between Engineering and Manufacturing, focusing on CNC process development, programming, and optimization.
Responsibilities:- Develop CNC programs (g-code) using ESPRIT CAM software to optimize precision and ultra-precision manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering & Manufacturing teams to establish manufacturing processes, preferred tooling, work-holding, in-process deburring, and metrology.
- Leverage parametric programming, macros, and CAM software to optimize programs across a family of parts.
- Perform hands-on setup and operation of production equipment for new part process development.
- Determine ideal setup, tool paths, material removal rates, surface finish, and yield.
- Train production personnel to ensure smooth transition and reproducibility in mass production.
- Manage programs and machine/tool setup data within the company’s Product Data Management (PDM) and Distributed Numerical Control (DNC) systems.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity, reduce setup time, and enhance quality.
- Stay up to date with the latest manufacturing technologies, including equipment, software, tooling, and gaging systems.
- Recommend productivity improvements related to technology investments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (equivalent experience considered).
- Experience: Five or more years of advanced manufacturing experience, preferably in precision or ultra-precision machining.
- Expertise in CNC programming for Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and Okuma controls, using advanced programming techniques.
- Proficiency in CAM software (ESPIRT preferred, but experience with Mastercam, PartMaker, or SolidCAM is acceptable).
- Familiarity with manufacturing enterprise software (experience with EPICOR or similar is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of work-holding, tooling systems, and CNC machine setup.
- Ability to perform hands-on setup and machine operation as needed.
