What You’ll Do
As an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist, you’ll play a key role in developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs at both local and regional levels. This position is based onsite at the San Jose headquarters, with an average of 10% monthly travel. You’ll report to the Sr. Manager of EHS.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer EHS training programs, including compressed gas, emergency action plans, electrical safety, hazardous waste management, and fire safety.
- Create and maintain written EHS programs and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct job hazard analyses and draft safe operating procedures.
- Perform chemical inventories and update the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database accordingly.
- Revamp laboratory safety signage and site emergency guides.
- Lead educational campaigns to promote safety awareness across the organization.
What You Bring
- Education: A BS degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 5–10 years of experience in EHS, ideally in a research and development environment.
- Expertise: A multidisciplinary background in EHS, industrial hygiene, and emergency response management.
