Responsibilities:
- Construct exhibits from raw materials to finished pieces, including woodworking, cabinet carpentry, and metal fabrication.
- Work with a variety of materials such as laminates (Formica®, Corian®), acrylics (Plexi-glas®, Lexan®), veneers, and specialty woods.
- Perform structural assembly using metals like stainless steel, aluminum, and other components such as trusses, extrusions, and reinforcing plates.
- Utilize a range of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment for cutting, welding, plasma cutting, and finishing tasks.
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to ensure precision and quality in every project.
- Collaborate with a team to maintain high standards for design, functionality, and durability in exhibit builds.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in exhibit construction or a related carpentry field.
- Proficiency with tools and techniques for both rough and finish carpentry.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with metal fabrication processes such as welding and plasma cutting is a plus.
- Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills.
