Responsibilities
The Industrial Engineer II will perform specialized industrial engineering functions within the Manufacturing Engineering department, supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives and new product implementation on the production floor. Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze product requirements, design process models, and implement process improvements.
- Measure work methods and maintain standards using MTM-1, MTM-USA, Time Study, and Work Sampling Study.
- Drive year-over-year productivity improvements.
- Oversee the smooth integration of engineering changes into production.
- Design and maintain standard operating sheets per ISO requirements.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, Availability, and Utilization.
- Maintain accurate facility layouts in AutoCAD.
- Design and improve ergonomics of workstations and processes.
- Develop and enhance material handling systems using Lean principles.
- Generate and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain and update routings in SAP.
- Ensure data availability for engineering changes on the production floor.
- Utilize data analysis and statistical process control (SPC) to drive continuous improvement.
- Create and evaluate value stream maps.
- Lead continuous improvement projects.
- Manage assembly line balancing and manpower planning based on MTM analysis.
- Establish labor standards and optimize job utilization.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to Industrial Engineer I team members.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to resolve complex engineering issues and prevent supply disruptions.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (Journeyman in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field) or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience (discrete manufacturing environment preferred).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar CAD applications), SPC, Plant Layout, MTM, Assembly Line Balancing, and Ergonomics.
