We are looking for a Machine Operator for a leading high end manufacturing company in Huntington Beach, for 1st shift 5:15am to 2:00pm. This is a temp to hire opportunity.
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating the Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) vacuum coating machines under the supervision and direction of the Production Manager. This job is responsible for the setup, monitoring, and basic maintenance of PVD coating machines. The position largely entails loading and unloading of machines, basic preventative maintenance, and inputting of parameters into a Windows-based PLC.
Duties:
• Operating and maintaining PVD coating machines according to company specifications.
• Minimizing equipment downtime through preventative maintenance procedures.
• Maintaining and updating equipment PM logs.
• Learning fixturing techniques and orientation requirements for proper PVD processing.
• Providing training assistance to other employees.
• Assisting with quality assurance and other technical matters.
• Product handling, including properly fixturing onto racks.
• Loading and unloading fixtured components from the coating machine to maintain production flow.
• Quality control of uncoated and coated parts and deposition processes.
• Troubleshooting of potential machine failures.
• Supporting our engineering team.
• Monitoring and ensuring availability of appropriate supplies of process gases.
• Raising any machining or quality issues with appropriate supervision or engineering support.
• Performing additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 2 years experience performing similar work in a related field such as manufacturing or machine shop is preferred.
• Hands-on and working knowledge of mechanical and computer-controlled machinery.
• Experience in a vacuum coating field is a plus.
• Knowledge of PVD Coatings is a plus.
• Previous experience with vacuum equipment or a related industry is strongly desired.
• A mechanical aptitude and basic machine shop skills.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, dependability, persistence.
• Ability to read, write, speak English fluently.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
