Eastridge is seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Helper for a leading manufacturer of custom-made bath and kitchen products. This is an onsite position with a shift schedule of Sunday through Thursday 9:00pm to 5:45am
Responsibilities:
The role of the Maintenance Helper is critical for ensuring the general upkeep and maintenance of company property as well as ensuring the proper execution of special projects and equipment installations. The Maintenance Helper is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks as well as maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.).
The Maintenance Helper also performs general cleaning and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned:
- Completing minor repair work, which includes repairing doors, locks, door frames and handles as well as replacing light bulbs, sockets, switches, and window glass.
- Performing basic plumbing tasks, which includes unclogging drains as well as fixing leaking faucets and toilets.
- Performing regular cleaning duties, which includes sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Maintaining all outdoor areas, which entails mowing, trimming, and edging the lawn as well as shoveling snow and ice as required.
- Inspecting control panels and electrical wiring to detect any issues that require immediate attention.
- Taking inventory of maintenance supplies and notifying the Supervisor of low or depleted supplies.
- Promptly responding to requests for emergency repairs and clean-ups.
- Ensuring that all maintenance equipment is in good working order.
- Performs corrective and preventative maintenance to repair or modify defects.
- Assembles and test parts as needed, such as various pumps, valves, laboratory equipment, heaters, compressors, and other mechanical system parts using common hand tools, power tools, and welding torches.
- Recommends electrical equipment, materials, sizes, and other working data for supervisory approval based on past practices, basic data tables, and technical references.
- Analyzes and repairs specialized equipment heavily dependent upon electrical controls, electromechanical mechanisms, and related components under general direction.
- Replaces fuses, light bulbs, circuit breakers, electric switches, and other electrical equipment following electrical specifications.
- Operates a variety of maintenance equipment including but not limited to, power hand tools, forklift, and electrical diagnostic testing instrument.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- At least two (2) years working experience in facility maintenance required.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical requirements:
- Push a minimum of 50 pounds (power cleaning appliances); ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds (trash and supplies).
- Climb ladders and step ladders.
