Position Overview:
The Tool Room Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing molds and related equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency. This position supports company’s commitment to innovation by fostering teamwork, maintaining a positive attitude, and encouraging open communication, all while employing a safe, hands-on approach.
Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and repair blow molding molds, ensuring proper preparation and handling for production.
- Perform extrusion head maintenance efficiently.
- Conduct preventive maintenance as required and work independently or collaboratively as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the team and cross-functional departments.
- Support production success by maintaining flexibility with working hours.
- Suggest improvements to working conditions and equipment usage to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to address and resolve machine repair needs.
- Coordinate with vendors for mold or tooling repairs.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and uphold the 6S program in production areas.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, and quality regulations.
- Contribute to the overall success of the team by assisting with tasks and projects.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Minimum of 2 years of machine operation or setup experience, preferably in plastics or blow molding.
- Own a basic set of tools and tool chest.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Competent in basic math and measurement.
- Familiarity with business computer and mobile applications.
- Advanced technical certifications or formal education are a plus.
- Skilled in operating vertical mills and lathes with the ability to produce parts with tight tolerances.
- Welding experience preferred.
- Must embrace the company culture and values.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk for extended periods; lift and carry up to 30-50 pounds.
- Perform tasks requiring finger, hand, and arm dexterity.
- Climb stairs, bend, squat, and maintain good hand-eye coordination.
- Work effectively in environments with temperatures ranging from 60°F to 110°F.
- Visually detect defects, depth, and variances, and see objects clearly.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
