Job Overview:
Under close supervision, the Operator will perform a variety of assembly and non-assembly tasks to meet manufacturing goals. This role involves operating equipment, conducting quality checks, and assisting with production processes while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Essential Functions:
- Operate equipment used in product manufacturing.
- Inspect products to ensure compliance with departmental procedures.
- Identify and report product or equipment issues during the manufacturing process.
- Assist with setup and cleanup of manufacturing equipment as needed.
- Perform quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
- Support Lean Initiatives to enhance efficiency.
- Follow all business policies and safety protocols.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Interactions:
- Work closely with team members on daily operations.
- Collaborate with mechanics, engineers, and management to resolve technical issues.
- Assist in orienting new employees to the work area.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment that may involve handling viral and bacterial hazards or potentially infectious materials (e.g., bodily fluids, tissues, and samples).
- Requires flexible work hours to meet project deadlines.
- Tasks are routine in nature, with exposure to regulated manufacturing conditions.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- May perform repetitive manufacturing processes (e.g., manual lamination, cassette assembly, pouch inspection) for up to 90% of the workday.
- Walking, standing, and/or sitting for extended periods (up to 75% of the day).
- Requires close and distance vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as designated.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1 year of related experience preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of FDA, ISO, OSHA regulations.
- Medical device manufacturing experience required.
- Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing systems.
- Commitment to quality management systems (ISO, FDA, and regulatory compliance).
- Awareness of device defects and quality consequences related to manufacturing, testing, and validation activities.
