We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Analyst to join our dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of payroll processing experience, exceptional organizational skills, and advanced Excel proficiency to the role.
Position Overview
As a Payroll Analyst, you will be instrumental in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations, and managing global payroll operations in collaboration with vendor partners.
Key Responsibilities
Global Payroll Processing
- Partner with payroll vendors to process semi-monthly and monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and government regulations.
- Verify tax rate updates provided by U.S. tax authorities.
- Address state notices and collaborate with payroll partners to resolve issues promptly.
- Respond to inquiries and provide resolutions in partnership with global payroll teams.
Data Management & Reporting
- Generate, analyze, and distribute payroll system reports for management and accounting.
Excel Data Analysis
- Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros) to analyze payroll data, reconcile discrepancies, and assist in month-end close activities.
Compliance & Audits
- Ensure adherence to payroll laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Support internal and external payroll audits.
Payroll Systems Maintenance
- Troubleshoot payroll-related issues, assist with system upgrades, and ensure payroll systems operate effectively in collaboration with the People team.
Employee Support
- Address and resolve employee payroll questions regarding paychecks, deductions, benefits, and tax filings.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement enhancements to payroll processes for improved efficiency and accuracy.
Billing Reconciliation
- Review and approve vendor invoices and reconcile monthly billing discrepancies in collaboration with the benefits manager and accounting team.
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience with a strong understanding of payroll systems and regulations.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and ADP SmartCompliance.
Skills & Knowledge
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and expertise in troubleshooting payroll-related issues.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Certifications
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred but not mandatory.
Communication
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with employees at all levels.
Work Environment
- Remote work with occasional in-office meetings and domestic travel.
- Flexibility for overtime during special projects.
