Summary
This position is responsible for the execution of the daily inbound process. The primary responsibility will be to open the facility in the morning, unload and put-away product from inbound carriers. This is an active, hands-on position which requires the candidate to be able to cross-train in multiple departments and learn a variety of tasks. Flexibility and excellent attendance are a must, there are times when very early starts will be required as well as night work. This is not the full scope of the job duties but a representative sample of the position and core responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- • Review and inspect inbound shipments to ensure product arrives within temperature specifications, is in good condition, case count is accurate, properly labeled and within expiration parameters.
- • Sign BOL & receiving documents and report any issues in a timely manner.
- • Put away PO’s in accordance with FIFO.
- • Approximately 75% of workday will be spent in the freezer which is sub-zero. All freezer bibs, jackets, hats, facemasks & gloves are provided by the company.
- • Ensure Product Handling Best Practices are being followed to minimize expenses and product damages.
- • Review and work with all warehouse associates to make room for upcoming deliveries, put away product and assure that product is rotated.
- • Work within the companies HACCP, Food Defense and all relevant SOP & GOP’s.
- • Assist in all audit preparation and on-going compliance.
- • Cross train on various warehouse and facility responsibilities and functions for the purpose of back-up needs: Order picking/fulfillment, HACCP & Facility Compliance an Audit participation.
- • Assist Managers & Supervisors to facilitate the best product and vendor layout for the facility.
- • Assist driving team with unloading freight.
- • Preform cycle counts on high mispick, damage and short items.
- • Support training new hires.
- • Frequently lift product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds.
- • Frequently reach up to 72 inches; constantly bend and twist while operating an electric pallet jack, retrieving items from lower shelf areas.
- • Heavy manual and ladder work required.
- • A minimum of three years in the last five years verifiable forklift experience is required.
- • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- • Must have great attention to detail be highly accurate
Requirements
- • A minimum of three years verifiable forklift experience in the last five years is required.
- • 21 Years old
- • Completion of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- • Must be willing to take a background check and drug test.
- • Must have a valid driver’s license.
- • DOT Medical Card is a plus.
- • Ability to work in cold temperatures, as low as -15 below zero.
- • Minimum of two years of previous warehouse/receiving experience, preferably in food.
- • Ability to read and understand the English language.
- • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and physically challenging environment.
- • Adapt schedule to work alongside the changing demands of the operation.
- • Ability to lift product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds.
- • Background Check, Lift Test Required. Drug Test Required if driving forklift.
