Eastridge Workforce Solutions, a leading provider of workforce management solutions, is hiring a Powder Prep Operator for a company specializing in manufacturing and processing high-purity quartz, fused silica, ceramics, and composites in Chandler, AZ.
Summary:
The Powder Prep Operator’s primary role is to prepare, process, and distribute raw materials/powders for ceramic semi-finished products. This position ensures that the production schedule is met in terms of time, quality, and productivity standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate equipment/tools to create or modify raw materials into powders used in current products.
- Operate machinery such as kilns, Rotovaps, and drum rollers while ensuring proper calibration to meet product specifications.
- Follow documented instructions and strict safety protocols to ensure proper machine function and program control.
- Communicate effectively with other operators and supervisors, attending training sessions to stay updated on equipment use.
- Provide training to team members on safety procedures, equipment operation, and industry processes.
- Perform routine cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery.
- Safely load and unload raw materials into machinery, changing tools as needed.
- Report progress and any issues to the production supervisor.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and detect and correct program errors promptly.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years of manufacturing experience; experience with chemicals or powders is a plus.
- Experience in a clean room or controlled environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of tools and tooling, and computer literacy required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain a Quality-First attitude with strong team collaboration.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical manuals, and safety procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate across the organization.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency with internet software and Microsoft Office (Intermediate/Advanced).
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks independently.
- A self-starter who is highly motivated, able to meet deadlines, and eager to learn.
