Position Overview:
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Quality and Compliance Manager will spearhead all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures that products meet stringent quality standards and comply with local, state, and federal regulations. The Manager will collaborate across production, R&D, sales, and customer service teams to foster a culture of quality while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management System: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust QMS aligned with industry standards, regulations, and customer expectations.
- Quality Assurance: Supervise inspection and testing processes for raw materials, production stages, and finished goods to meet defined quality specifications.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed on evolving regulations, ensuring all manufacturing processes adhere to federal, state, and local requirements. Oversee on-site Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S).
- Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and hold quality control/assurance team leaders accountable for achieving operational and quality objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process optimizations and product quality enhancements across the organization.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate customer complaints, product defects, and non-conformances to determine root causes and execute corrective actions.
- Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with procurement to develop and maintain a supplier quality program, including audits and performance evaluations.
- Employee Training: Provide training on quality control procedures, best practices, and quality awareness to foster a company-wide culture of quality.
- Quality Metrics: Define, track, and report key quality performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management, supporting data-driven decisions.
- Customer Focus: Partner with the customer service team to resolve quality-related inquiries promptly and effectively.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including inspection reports, test results, and regulatory compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline; certifications in quality management or quality engineering are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager or in a similar role within the manufacturing sector, ideally in adhesives, sealants, or coatings.
- Deep knowledge of quality management principles, ISO 9001 standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor quality teams effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer engagement.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards.
- Visual acuity to interpret critical quality data and documentation accurately.
