We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to support their team. The Senior Quality Engineer is expected to exercise sound technical judgment using data gathered from internal monitoring to implement and sustain suitable processes that enable continual improvement to reach efficiency targets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements quality documentation such procedures, work instructions, single-point lessons, etc.
- Interprets complex drawings, documents, and specifications to facilitate product / process implementation.
- Monitors and analyzes quality trends and performance and reports to Quality Manager.
- Collaborates with Quality Manager and Operations Manager to develop and implement controls and improvements.
- Lead formal problem-solving teams to resolve important quality issues.
- Investigate customer, product, and supplier complaints.
- Train Inspectors and Quality Technicians in all facets of quality.
- Interface with customers and suppliers, as required, to resolve quality issues.
- Work with Engineering and Quality to determine the appropriate measuring methods and tools to carry out inspections.
- Familiarity with Risk Management / Risk Mitigation.
- Works cross-functionally to support development / prototype projects.
- Travel up to 20% annually to support of customers and suppliers.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5 years of demonstrated experience in maintaining AS9100D and ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment. Will consider experience in IATF16949, or ISO13485.
- Experience with Heat Treat and Welding desired, and experience with Nadcap is a plus.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, ideally across multiple sites and time zones with an understanding and sensitivity for cultural differences.
- Proven experience working in fast paced, dynamic work environment.
- Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize existing and emergent demands to meet company and stakeholder requirements.
- Sound analytical skills. Able to see the big picture, remain focused and composed while shuffling multiple demands to make appropriate decisions.
- The ability to develop and maintain relationships with a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds and be adept at engaging with these people in a perceptive and appropriate manner.
- Strong blueprint interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing skills.
- Experience with internal and external audits.
- Strong computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
- Requires the ability to write reports in clear, grammatically correct, English.
