We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Specialist to support its operations in handling the accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of goods. Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving:
- Inspect and verify incoming shipments for accuracy against packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Unload, label, and store incoming materials in designated locations.
- Notify appropriate personnel of discrepancies or damages.
- Shipping:
- Prepare, pack, and label products for shipment according to customer specifications and shipping guidelines.
- Create shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments and receipts in the inventory management system.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts to ensure accuracy and report variances.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure all outgoing and incoming products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
- Report and address any non-conformance issues promptly.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the production, purchasing, and quality teams to meet operational goals.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve shipping and receiving processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and shipping software.
- Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
