What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Analyst position at EastRise Federal Credit Union?
Works with the Compliance Manager to maintain a comprehensive compliance program designed to ensure the activities of the credit union comply with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, statements of policy, and internally developed policies and procedures. Provides compliance support for the credit union’s ongoing daily business and initiatives. Collaborates with the credit union’s training department on applicable compliance training for credit union staff. Coordinates compliance audits and participates in regulatory examinations. Establishes and cultivates strong working relationships with all credit union departments to advance the culture and effectiveness of a synchronized approach to compliance management.
- Manages the coordination of compliance audits (internal or external) by working with all business units to disseminate request lists, organize documents to send to auditors, maintain file folders of audit items, and follow up as needed. Document initial audit findings and responses in the compliance management software used by the credit union.
- Maintain the Compliance Management software for regulatory change management. Perform follow-up of tasks assigned to ensure regulatory changes are implemented as needed at the credit union across business units. Work with the Senior Compliance Officer to document/follow up on complaints following the Complaint Management process for the credit union.
- Assists the Compliance Manager with research/replies to compliance questions regarding regulatory issues. Manage in-house compliance questions submission and marketing compliance review portals. Utilize external compliance research tools as needed to respond to compliance issues and/or approve marketing advertisements in a timely manner.
- Assists the Compliance Manager with the development and maintenance of the credit union’s compliance management program, including but not limited to the following: i) keep abreast of any new regulatory developments and communicate them to staff in a timely manner; ii) help implement the necessary changes by working with all business units at the credit union; and iii) develop and maintain a current library of compliance resources.
- Interact with and assist examiners and auditors to provide information regarding the credit union's compliance program. Assist with obtaining necessary information and explaining various functions, system and processes related to compliance. Assist management with responses and remedial steps to resolve examination/audit findings/recommendations.
- Attend seminars, workshops, and training as necessary to maintain compliance certification and expand compliance expertise. Maintain a network of compliance resources.
- Develop, or assist in the development, of compliance training curriculum.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Experience in compliance, internal audit, or risk management is preferred.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
A college degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Certified Compliance Officer designation preferred, or the ability to be certified within one year of hire.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
A Signicast level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with direct and indirect reports, and outside vendors. Dialogue can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to senior level managers in the organization.
OTHER SKILLS
COMPETENCIES: Must be at least 18 years of age. Favorable Background, Credit, Criminal, Bondability, and Reference Checks required. (Motor Vehicle check dependent on position.) Travel to other branches or locations may be required depending on position. General understanding and knowledge of banking regulations, technical disclosure requirements and calculation procedures required for credit union operation. Ability to maintain operational eÛciency and regulatory compliance. Proven ability to work independently and with a wide range of levels, personalities and roles, including contact with credit union members as needed. Work will include cross-functional and diverse team involvement. Knowledge of and practical experience with credit union or other ×nancial institution operating areas, functions, products and services and the applicable laws and regulations. Ability to conduct thorough research, interpret and understand laws and regulations, and provide workable recommendations and solutions. Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, problem solving and time management skills. Ability to receive and maintain con×dential information. Knowledge of Microsoft OÛce products. Knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Compliance software preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine oÛce equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel oè site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
