Content and Communications Strategist

EastRise Credit Union is seeking a Content and Communications Strategist to lead the development and execution of both internal and external communication strategies that elevate our brand, engage our stakeholders, and support our organizational goals! The Content and Communications Strategist is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing internal and external communications, public relations strategies, and branded marketing content and communication strategies in a wide range of media to support various marketing and organizational objectives, including increased brand awareness.

Position Details:

• Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
• Location: Montpelier, VT or South Burlington, VT with option for a hybrid schedule

Key Responsibilities:

• Plans, writes, reviews and implements content for websites, blog posts, articles, press releases, video and audio productions, emails, annual reports, white papers, corporate communication, member communications, radio, print collateral, and other forms of communications and inbound marketing content.
• Collaborates with content and communication experts and internal stakeholders to develop and maintain comprehensive communication strategies, inbound content and campaigns, content calendars, and various forms of channel/platform content to support both organizational and marketing objectives.
• Assist with campaign development and marketing channel strategies by leading key messaging, content themes or promotional concepts, segmentation and large audiences, compliance, and timing and sequence of content/communication tactics.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to produce communications, announcements, and resources to support organizational initiatives and increase team member awareness, shared understanding, engagement, alignment, and knowledge.
• Writes press releases, opinion pieces, byline articles, keynote programs, thought leadership pieces, and other strategic public relations initiatives that represent and enhance brand reputation. Identifies and authors engagement stories (internal and external) that demonstrate the organization’s positive impact via traditional, digital, and social channels.
• Assists with and performs other related duties as assigned, including support for digital and social content, response marketing strategy development, events, projects and programs, campaigns, and other marketing initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years of experience in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations, or a similar or related field preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently on broad assignments.
• Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups and to represent the brand professionally.
• Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
• Innovative with a strong interest in driving strategic messages to key internal and external role players.
• Skilled in quickly and effectively creating appropriate messaging to meet a variety of objectives inside and outside the organization.
• Ability to work under pressure, with tight and changing timelines and in a fast-paced environment.
