JOB SUMMARY

Eastside Catholic School is seeking High School Spanish teacher for the 2025-26 school year. This educator will play a vital role in fostering students’ understanding and appreciation of Spanish language and culture. The ideal candidate is passionate about Spanish language education, skilled in collaboration and eager to contribute to a faith-based educational community.

Specific Responsibilities

Design and deliver engaging lessons that align with the World Language Department’s curriculum while conveying new ideas and best practices

Plan and teach five sections of Spanish (Ranging from Levels I to III)

Develop instructional materials, syllabi, assessments and learning objectives in alignment with the department curriculum

Establish clear objectives for assigned lessons, learning targets and projects and communicate these to students

Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback, development and progress

Participate in faculty, department and committee meetings

Serve as a mentor teacher for a group of 15-18 students

Requirements :

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Strong understanding of and experience teaching Spanish at the high school level

Proficiency in differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs

Fluency in classroom technology and instructional tools

Ability to build positive relationships and maintain open communication with students and families

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and collaboration skills

Commitment to fostering equity, inclusion and a sense of belonging

Education and experience

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Spanish or a related field

Native or near-native fluency in Spanish

Teaching certification, credential or extensive classroom teaching experience

Knowledge of Spanish-speaking cultures, history and traditions
