We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Medical Office Receptionist to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Office Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing exceptional administrative support and excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

Patient Communication: Interact with patients via phone, email, and online platforms to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and provide information about the medical practice's services and procedures.

Appointment Scheduling: Manage and maintain the appointment calendar, ensuring efficient scheduling and appropriate allocation of time slots for medical consultations and procedures.

Check-in and Check-out: Coordinate patient check-ins for telehealth appointments, confirming patient details, verifying insurance information, and assisting with paperwork as needed. Facilitate smooth check-out processes by updating patient records and providing necessary follow-up instructions.

Medical Records: Accurately maintain electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure they are up-to-date and organized, including entering patient information, medical history, and treatment plans.

Billing and Insurance: Collaborate with the billing department to accurately document patient insurance information, verify coverage, and assist patients with inquiries related to insurance claims and billing.

Triage and Referrals: Direct incoming patient inquiries to the appropriate medical personnel or departments, ensuring timely and effective communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Confidentiality: Handle sensitive patient information with the utmost confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient privacy and data security.

Technology Proficiency: Utilize communication platforms, EMR systems, and administrative software to efficiently manage patient interactions, appointments, and documentation.

Problem Solving: Address patient concerns, resolve scheduling conflicts, and assist in troubleshooting technical issues related to appointments and communications.

Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care coordination and support the overall functioning of the medical office.

Professionalism: Uphold a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients and colleagues, displaying empathy and understanding in all interactions.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred).

Minimum 5 years of experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-centric approach.

Proficiency in using communication tools, EMR systems, and office software.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus.

Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Empathy and the ability to provide exceptional customer service to patients.

Work Environment:

The Medical Office Receptionist will collaborate with the medical office team, including healthcare providers and administrative staff, to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
