Director of Rehabilitation

Overview

East Side Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Rehabilitation to lead the rehabilitation services team of our 80-bed facility. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality patient care while managing the operational aspects of our rehabilitation department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of both clinical and administrative functions within the skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the rehabilitation department, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and best practices.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and organization of all departmental paperwork, including conducting documentation audits.
• Participate in facility and company meetings as needed.
• Establish and promote clinical programs/enhancement as indicated.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and data security.
• Develop professional working relationships with staff, facility team members, residents, and resident family members.
• Supervise office management tasks, including scheduling, staffing, and performance evaluations for rehabilitation personnel.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages professional development and teamwork among staff members.
• Conduct regular assessments of departmental processes to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

Director of Rehab Skills:

• Previous leadership experience preferred
• SNF/LTC experience preferred
• Current knowledge of treatment practices
• Knowledge of EMR preferred (Net Health and Point Click Care)
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities

Required Licensure:

• Current Therapy License in New York State (PT/OT, PTA/OTA also encouraged to apply), and in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
