Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Aide to join our team in providing engaging and supportive activities for residents in our long-term care facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for individuals, particularly those with memory care needs and disabilities. This role involves working closely with residents to facilitate recreational therapy, manage schedules for activities, and ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Engage residents in meaningful conversations and activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Monitor resident participation in activities and provide feedback to the care team regarding individual preferences and needs.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive environment that addresses aging issues and enhances overall well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of activities conducted and resident participation.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to foster a positive atmosphere.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or working within memory care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with long-term care practices, recreational therapy, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong schedule management skills to coordinate various activities efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including those experiencing cognitive decline or physical limitations.
- Experience in event planning is a plus, allowing for creative engagement opportunities for residents.

Pay: $16.27 - $16.74 per hour
