Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced production yard environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within the facility. The forklift operator will be responsible for reading order tickets, loading and unloading flat bed haulers. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving processes, as well as adherence to OSHA safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment to load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move materials to designated areas within the warehouse, ensuring proper storage and organization.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying accuracy of shipments against packing lists.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to build efficient workflows and optimize material handling processes.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Perform general warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and materials handling.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures is preferred.
- Experience operating cranes or other heavy equipment is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required; OSHA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
