Eastwick College-Hackensack is seeking a (Full-time) Funeral Service Program Director. Courses are offered on campus during afternoon and evening sessions.

Summary of Position: The Director of the Funeral Service Program is the chief representative of the FNS program before all communities of interest and regulatory agencies. The Director of Funeral Service Program is responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of the FNS program. These activities include adequate planning, budgeting, and managing program resources. The Director of Funeral Service Program hires and oversees FNS faculty. The Director of Funeral Service Program must ensure that all program activities abide by the regulations of the New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education (NJSHE), the standards of the Accrediting Commission of Careers Schools and Colleges ACCSC, the accreditation standards of the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE), Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and the regulations of the New Jersey State Board of Mortuary Science (NJSBMS).

Qualifications

  • Must be a be a full-time employee of the institution.
  • Be a graduate of an ABFSE accredited program.
  • Four Years experience in the field of funeral service.
  • Possess a valid license to practice as a funeral service professional.
  • Possess an academic background consistent with the position of leadership held: This will always involve at least the master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university earned within five years of the date of the initial full-time appointment in funeral service education. For program directors earning degrees in colleges or universities outside the United States, the institution awarding the degree must have fulfilled governmental standards which in the judgment of American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) are acceptable or similar to those of the ABFSE.
