What are the responsibilities and job description for the NIGHT SHIFT Quality Control Tech - Tortillas Manufacturing Bilingual Spanish/English position at Easy Foods Inc.?
Night shift required - $16 p/h - 12 hours shift - 6:00 pm to 6 :00 am
Spanish required
Duties:
1. Ensure that the Sanitation System complies with the specifications. Perform daily inspections
2. Ensure that the Company complies with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
3. Ensure all products are packaged according to product code specifications.
4. Verify that the corresponding raw material is used correctly, according to the specifications of each Product Code. If you detect any deviation, you must immediately inform the Production team and Quality Control team.
5. Verify that all the information on the labels of the finished product is correct and printed according to the requirements of the customer's specifications.
6. Verify that the properties and sensory characteristics of the tortilla, such as appearance, color, cooking marks properly cooked, texture, taste, and smell, correspond to the characteristics of the product.
7. Place products on “Hold” that do not meet product specifications.
8. Monitor and verify that the Critical Control Point (Metal Detectors) per line are working properly
9. Ensure Standard Operating procedures are followed.
10. Other tasks assigned by QC Supervisor
Skills:
1. Associate degree in science related field and/or, 1 year in a quality control/assurance position in the food industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
2. Available to work overtime and weekends, if required.
3. Ability to multitask and stay focus in a fast-paced working environment
4. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others.
5. English/Spanish required.
6. Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office experience.
The following physical activities are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job: extensive standing and walking on concrete surfaces, vision, hearing, speaking, climb and balance, and lift to 30 lbs. unassisted and 50 lbs. assisted.
GFSI Standard Certification Training and/or HACCP training preferred.
