Responsibilities
- Monitor patients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Provide direct support to clients in their daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Prepare meals and assist with dietary needs while adhering to any specific dietary restrictions.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' overall well-being.
Requirements
- Previous experience in patient care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of CPR techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices is beneficial.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and privacy.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals on the autism spectrum is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy are essential for this role.
- Ability to cook nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs is advantageous.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
