Program Manager

Eat REAL
San Francisco, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 3/4/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/3/2025

POSITION: Manager, K-12 Program

LOCATION: Remote

JOB TYPE: Full-time, exempt

Reports To: Director, K-12 Program

THE ROLE

In 2025, Eat Real is aiming big — reaching one million students to double our impact in just one year. To make that happen, we need to attract and serve more school districts than ever before. That’s where you come in. As the Program Manager, you’ll get your feet wet with the Fall 2025 district outreach season — connecting with school nutrition leaders, introducing them to Eat Real, and getting them enrolled in our K-12 Certification Program. As our districts come on board for Fall 2025, you’ll transition into program management, supporting them through certification and helping them achieve their goals.

This role is ideal for someone who loves building and nurturing relationships. You’ll be the face of Eat Real in new regions, working closely with school food leaders to drive real change. Reporting to the Director of K-12 Program, you’ll also collaborate across teams and have the flexibility to shape your focus based on your strengths and interests. If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and get excited about relationship-building, strategy, and school food, we’d love to have you on board.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

District Outreach & Enrollment

  • Lead Fall 2025 outreach efforts: Identify and engage with school districts that share Eat Real’s goals and values

  • Facilitate enrollment and onboarding: Schedule and lead intro calls, oversee program enrollment, and ensure seamless transition to certification program

  • Manage outreach pipeline: Track district engagement, progress, and key performance metrics using CRM tools

  • Develop scalable outreach processes: Build tools and workflows to improve efficiency and expand impact

Program Management & Customer Success

  • Lead districts through certification: Act as the primary liaison, helping districts navigate the certification process

  • Understand new landscapes: Learn the challenges & opportunities unique to school food in different states and regions

  • Enhance program tools & processes: Identify ways to improve district support and refine the certification experience

  • Facilitate engagement opportunities: Organize and lead meetings and events, fostering a network of like-minded school food leaders

General Organization Support

  • Shape Eat Real’s strategy: Contribute to the evolution, growth, and strategic planning as the organization grows

  • Plan events & partnerships: Contribute to events and initiatives that foster school district relationships

  • Evaluate & enhance content: Support marketing team to craft content for the website, blog, and social media channels

The above is an overview of the job; as needs arise there will be additional miscellaneous responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years in relationship management, outreach, or sales, preference for school food experience or related fields

  • Partnership-first approach: prioritizes trust, collaboration, and long-term relationships over transactions

  • Builder mentality: comfortable with ambiguity, enjoys problem-solving, thrives in fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Strong project management skills: highly organized, detailed-oriented, and excellent at managing multiple priorities

  • Collaborative and inclusive working style: excels in cross-functional teamwork and values diverse perspectives

  • Tech-savvy: comfortable using Asana, Slack, CRM systems, and other cloud-based tools

  • Alignment with Eat Real’s values:

    • Serve Heroes, and Each Other

    • Culture of Continuous Improvement

    • Leave Room for Magic

    • It’s Fun to Change the World
