Job Title : Shipping / Receiving Clerk
Duration : 3 months Contract (possible extension)

Shift : Mon - Friday 8am - 4 : 30pm
Position Summary :
- Performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks. Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments / locations. Prepares items for shipment ensuring cost effective courier services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Receives supplies and materials, sorts by priority; reviews purchase orders to ensure appropriate supplies and / or materials have been received, stamps date. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.Reviews paperwork for received items; issues work order; labels unit and paperwork, routes to appropriate department.Operates hand truck or forklift to unload shipments from trucks.Fill out purchase orders requesting supplies for shippingExamines paperwork and unit, packs item, uses computer to generate shipping information for the carrier.Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery.Resolves receiving discrepancies by comparing purchase order(s) to delivery documentationPrepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and / or purchasing personnel.Traces lost shipments and / or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents.May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping / receiving records.May operate dolly, pallet jack, and / or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink-wrap machine; may operate company vehicle to deliver shipments; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; may lock warehouse and set alarms.Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuousForm No. : HR-F001 Rev. Highschool Diploma or GED.Experience :
Minimum of 5 years' work experience. Shipping / Receiving experience within the aviation industry preferred.Preferred
Knowledge of electronic business systems Microsoft Office, Quantum or other internal business management system.Qualifications :

Typical Working Conditions : (Describe environment including exposure to heat, cold, fumes,
chemicals, etc.)
Work will be conducted mostly indoors in a "shop" type environment.Exposure to heat or cold will mostly be limited to when walking from one building to another or if bay doors have been opened to allow for shipping and receiving activities.
