Custodial Technician
FLSA Status Part-Time
MISSION STATEMENT:

SCOPE OF POSITION:
General Statement of Duties: Custodial Technician is responsible for facilities maintenance for the Eaton Area Park and Recreation District.
Supervision Received: Works under the direction of the Facilities & Grounds Coordinator.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: Starting at $14.81 /Hr Part-Time
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for regular maintenance, including scheduled deep cleaning, as well as performing some additional cleaning duties.
- Operates exterior maintenance equipment which may include all light duty maintenance machinery. Plans, designs, lays out, and stripes parking lots, playgrounds, and athletic fields. Emptying of trash and cleanup of trash on all exterior grounds. Assists with graffiti removal.
- Inspects and maintains grounds, including athletic fields, playground equipment, parking lots, fences, and exterior operations related structures, to ensure all exterior operations maintenance is performed in compliance with all District quality standards, safety practices, policies, and procedures.
- Interior custodial will be required, along with event set up.
- Performs snow removal with duties including the operation of plow equipment. Hours may include nights, weekends, overtime and possible returning to work after regular scheduled shift.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work weekends and nighttime hours
- Self-motivated and ability to work with little supervision
- Knowledge of safe cleaning practices
- Ability to clean, in and around work out equipment
- Proficient skills and knowledge of all grounds related power equipment and specialized hand tools.
- Ability to perform math computations needed in trade including metric/English conversions.
- Capable of working in harsh weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Valid Colorado driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Excellent communication skills and positive attitude.
- This position is subject to the Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Program. This may includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return-to-duty testing, and follow-up testing.
EQUIPMENT AND VEHICLES USED:
- Employee will be required to operate District vehicles. All applicants are required to submit a motor vehicle record with application. Driver's license must be maintained as a condition of continued employment. Employee must maintain a driving record which meets the standards of the District insurance policy.
