JUNIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER

POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior Systems Engineer supports the Oracle-based ERP and application ecosystem for the Eaton family of companies, working closely with the Director of Information Systems to learn and grow into a key role. Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, this position starts with foundational database and development tasks, progressively absorbing expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite, APEX applications, and related systems to ensure long-term continuity.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with basic database tasks, writing and tuning SQL and PL/SQL scripts.
• Support maintenance of Oracle E-Business Suite, APEX apps, and SOA for EDI and workflows.
• Help build and update dashboards and analytics under Director guidance.
• Learn to align business requirements with ERP and custom application solutions.
• Assist with documentation of system configurations, processes, and applications (text documents, flowcharts, etc.).
• Shadow the Director of Information Systems on troubleshooting, development and day to days tasks.
• Gain knowledge on non-Oracle ERP and software systems to support additional business entities, departments and processes.
• Take on small, delegated tasks—coding, testing, or support—to build skills.
• Grow knowledge of integrations, custom apps, and ERP modules over time.
• Stay current with evolving technologies and systems, maintain up-to-date skills, and pursue relevant industry certifications as needed.
• Perform additional duties as needed, including tasks typically handled by other team members, leveraging skills and availability.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred, not required.
