Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Category Manager, Copper North America. This position is based at any Eaton North American office - preferably in Cleveland, OH or Southfield, MI or Moon Township, PA.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $123750.0 - $181500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Job Summary:
Our supply chain management team creates bottom-line impact by driving cost management, business growth support, and operational benefits. Within our supply chain, the Category Manager, Copper supports the development and deployment of the global category strategy for Copper in all the regions and predominantly within the businesses of eMobility, Electrical Americas, and Electrical Europe. In this role, you will drive towards optimal conditions (cost, commercial, quality, delivery, innovation, resiliency, VAVE) for the Copper category by leveraging synergies across businesses and driving the “One Supply Chain” philosophy. You will be responsible for leading a global group of Category Managers responsible for Aluminum (Sheet, Bar, Extrusions, Mag Wire) and Copper (Bar, Strip, Mag Wire) and provide guidance to the team in terms of goals, execution, and escalation.
With the global electrification and eMobility industries reliant on these metals, this role is critical in supporting Eaton's growth and profitability plans over the next 3-5 years. This role will require an individual who can think outside the box and one who can develop and implement next-level, paradigm-shifting strategies to support and protect our business strategies.

Job Responsibilities:
- You will develop strategy and connected strategic initiatives to facilitate cross-business synergies across a rationalized set of global and regional preferred supplier partners. You will also support Team members in the execution of the initiatives.
- You will negotiate and manage key strategic supplier contracts and relationships.
- You will review, approve, monitor and report compliance to category agreements and strategies based upon Eaton SCM strategic directions.
- You will develop innovative business solutions, forecast commodity projections and provide mitigation actions as applicable to ensure key metrics for the procurement function (Cost Out, Resiliency, Working Capital, Diversity Spend, etc.) are achieved.
- You will develop and present global communication plans and share new planning tools, methods, technical analysis, standards and procurement opportunities with senior management that are aligned with SCM/Eaton strategic plans and cost reduction initiatives.
- You will benchmark procurement processes to develop and implement best practices throughout Eaton and Supply Chain Management.
- You will ensure compliance of suppliers with Eaton SCM Sustainability Programs, and SCM policies.
- You will plan, prepare, and execute annual profit planning for the owned spend, and support execution with the business cross functional teams.
- You will lead Supplier Business Reviews with strategic suppliers
- You will support flex in the Category scope following acquisitions or divestiture in the business
- You will leverage Eaton's vast support network of engineering, R&D, test, and data analytic resources to strategically manage your category.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Supply Chain
- 3 years of experience as category manager
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
- No relocation will be offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50 mile radius of an Eaton location will be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Economics or Business Administration from an accredited institution
- Professional Supply Chain related certification (e.g. CPM, CPIM)
- MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain from an accredited institution
- Prior experience with copper / aluminum purchasing.
- 2-4 years’ professional experience with accountability across multiple manufacturing facilities
Technical knowledge

- Knowledge of category management and ability to identify technology and economical trends within the Copper/Aluminum category
- Demonstrates knowledge and experience in successfully deploying category strategies, driving cost-out (thru material optimization, material utilization, and negotiations), and implementing a resilient supply chain
- Creative thinking skills to produce new approaches in category management and implementation of emerging tools & technologies
- Demonstrated ability to develop commercial relationships beyond what has been done in the past
- Proven performance in managing a strategic commodity and working with a global team
