What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Assembly - 1st shift position at Eaton?
Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Industrial Assembly - 1st shift. The hourly rate for this position is $18.87 plus .60 shift differential per hour. The core hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do:
- Affixes a variety of sub-assemblies to the inside of enclosures and commercial products following print layouts, and verbal and written instructions.
- Uses pneumatic and manual hand tools to secure the component parts as appropriate. Label enclosures with appropriate product information.
- Checks the quality of assembled parts and finished enclosures.
- Lifts finished enclosures into boxes for shipment, cuts, forms, and tape boxes for appropriate sizing using hand tools. Palletizes boxes.
- Performs first article inspections.
- Performs 5S & Continuous Improvement activities.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates who currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Sherman, TX will be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a machine shop/sheet metal processing manufacturing environment
- Assembly or subassembly experience in a production environment
- Experience reading blueprints and using simple measuring tools
Position Criteria:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally to frequently with or without accommodation and up to 75 lbs. occasionally by stooping, reaching, and bending.
- Ability to stand for eight hours and perform repetitious tasks
- Ability to read blueprints and use simple measuring tools
- Ability to follow directions and work independently with a focus on details.
- Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product
- Ability to reach, grasp and manipulate
- Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays, as needed by the business
