Mechanical Engineer - Nitrogen

Eaton’s AER MSD Mission System Division division is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Nitrogen at our location in Davenport IA.

In this role, you will support the development, design, and testing related to Nitrogen Generation Fuel Tank Inerting components and assemblies. You will perform calculations related to mechanical, pneumatic and thermal design requirements and performance; model detailed parts and assemblies to analyze design feasibility, and support product design activities in accordance with project or proposal schedules.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year.

What You’ll Do

• Primary responsibility is to provide technical design, analysis, and support for new product development and product improvements.
• Participates in cross-functional Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations. Provide engineering input and technical expertise and sound engineering judgment for failure investigation and for customer-returned hardware.
• Creates and/or guides the creation of technical documents, including Engineering drawings (following ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.34 standards), test procedures, test reports, and design review material. Present product design and substantiating data and analysis, design findings and recommendations to customers and management.
• Ensure standardization of products and adherence to engineering processes across multiple projects. Supports continuous improvement by offering input to standard processes and procedures.
• Component design study and improvement for cost reduction and first-time yield.
• Other duties assigned by resource manager.
  
  
  

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution. Expected May 2025 degrees accepted.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 70-mile radius of Davenport IA will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. Preferred Qualifications

• 1 years of experience inclusive of internship experiences, working with electro-mechanical components.
• Familiarity with 3D Modeling Software (Creo).
• Familiarity with machining and/or molding techniques, along with material evaluation.
• Familiarity with FEA (Failure Effects Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and software programs used in their assessment (ANSYS).
• Familiarity with test design, instrumentation, and test operation to evaluate performance characteristics of unit under test.
• Familiarity in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14 standards
