Job Summary

Reporting to the chief financial officer (CFO), the Financial Analyst will assist in providing financial and statistical support and analysis to the organization, management both locally and at the Corporate level in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Assist in performing and gathering data in support of a wide range of routine and moderately complex financial activities. Emphasis on financial, operational and statistical performance analysis, short term & long term financial planning, budgeting. Assists in gathering statistical information in support of pro forma preparation or other analysis as appropriate for existing & new programs/service lines, and/or in conjunction with industry benchmarks or established targets or goals; identifies opportunities, makes recommendations, educates & assists with implementation of improvements where applicable.


Essential Functions

  • Assist with preparation and analysis pertaining to the annual operating and capital budget for assigned area(s), system readiness for compilation of such working closely with accounting staff.
  • Assist with preparation in the development of long-term financial plans including operating and capital needs, creation of financial statements and ratios as pertains to targeted ratios and performance metrics.
  • Assist in preparation of pro formas for new business ventures as assigned or requested, and/or analyses of existing services. Work closely with finance, accounting and/or project champions to gather necessary information.
  • Assist in performing financial analysis, projections, and report generation, presentations as directed by leadership, in an effort to provide continual improvement to support financial understanding, communication of financial health and to assist management team in executing strong financial performance.
  • Continually and proactively seek opportunities for process improvement across all entities and departments, and assists with training, guidance and implementation of such when and where feasible.
  • Work with a high degree of focus on accuracy, consistency and attention to detail, while maintaining the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing time and resource allocation.
  • Problem Solving - The ability to understand a situation by breaking it apart into smaller pieces or tracing the implications in a step-by-step way.
  • Initiative - The identification of a problem, obstacle, or opportunity and proactively taking action to address current or future problems/opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by CFO.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Accounting/Finance/Health Administration and/or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in related fields with at least two (2) years’ experience in a relevant healthcare, financial analytics, or systems role preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of accounting operations and functions is helpful.
  • Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products and/or data systems

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form.
  • Ability to produce month-end financial reports.
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute and operate various office equipment to include copy machine, calculator, fax machine, and multi-line phone.
  • Must display professional attitude and maintain professional appearance.
  • Must possess above average verbal and writing skills.
  • Must be able to follow detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to give clear, concise instructions.
  • Must be able to deal with individuals of varying socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Able to work as part of a team and foster the team concept.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Ability to prioritize, flexibility in work assignments.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Be able to sit, stand, stoop, squat for extended periods of time throughout the day.
  • Standing or walking for extended periods throughout the day.
