POSITION SUMMARY
The Community Support Program Resource Specialist provides agency-wide administrative services and assistance and offers information and referral of services to individuals and families served by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and to the public. This position provides administrative support for DHS professional staff, Crisis Services, and Adult Protective Services (APS).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Provides information and assistance to DHS customers using a trauma-informed model of service, complicit with rigorous privacy protocols; assesses needs, acquires necessary information, refers to DHS staff and other service providers; follows-up as needed.
- Adheres to the confidentiality standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
- Provides clerical support for the Crisis Program and ad hoc committees;prepares agenda items and supporting documentation and equipment; compiles agenda packets to ensure all necessary information is present and in proper format and distributes accordingly; attends meetings and records and transcribes minutes; follows through on committee directives and information requests; provides public with necessary meeting notices; maintains records and retrieves information as requested.
- Adheres to strict documentation, record-keeping, and reporting guidelines and laws to maintain DHS resource information; enters, maintains, scans, and updates data into computer database systems in accordance with established procedures; verifies accuracy of data; retrieves data; processes records information requests in compliance with HIPAA laws.
- Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to support staff projects and schedules; provides special project management, coordinating staff and resources to achieve project objectives.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL EXEPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in a human service, business administration, communication, or related field with three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative support experience.
OR
- High school diploma or its equivalent with six (6) years of progressively responsible administrative support experience.
- Two (2) years of experience providing customer service to a variety of people including individuals and families in crisis.
- Demonstrated training or experience in standard office practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated training or experience in computer use with Microsoft Office software
- Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of a credit check, criminal and caregivers background check.
- Must have valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and access to private transportation for work-related duties.
- Must possess and maintain personal automobile insurance in the amount of $100,000/$300,000.
DESIRED TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL EXERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a human service, business administration, communication, or related field.
- Experience working with individuals in crisis.
- Proficiency in medical records systems preferred.
- Language capacity in Hmong or Spanish preferred
