What are the responsibilities and job description for the cook position at Eau Claire County?
The ADRC Program Cook assists the ADRC Kitchen Manager with daily food preparation and packaging for the Senior Dining program. This position assists with kitchen sanitation and adhering to food safety standards.
- Exercises knowledge of and compliance with food sanitation and kitchen safety practices; prepares and serves food to a high-risk population; maintains orderly, clean, and sanitized kitchen work areas; performs routine cleaning and sanitization tasks in all areas of the kitchen, including equipment and dishes.
- Uses ability to follow oral and written directions to assist with food production as directed by the ADRC Kitchen Manager.
- Employs basic math skills necessary to count out food portions; packages food for meal delivery routes for Meals on Wheels; packages cold, bulk foods for delivery.
- Assists with unloading delivery trucks and stocking supplies, following proper stock rotation principles.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience working in a kitchen setting.
- Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of criminal and caregiver background check.
- ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification within three (3) months of hire and maintain thereafter during employment.
- Position will require a pre-employment physical exam.
- Must have valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and access to private transportation for work-related duties.
- Must possess and maintain personal automobile insurance in the amount of $100,000/$300,000.
