Accountant/Controller
SUMMARY: Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. Accountable for the financial books of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures accuracy and thoroughness of all functions associated with financial operations and reporting
- Responsible for accounts payable & receivable functions protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
- ·Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
- Perform all duties associated with bi-weekly payroll processing, including required tax filing and reporting
- Submit monthly sales tax reports ensuring all filing requirements are performed in a timely and accurate fashion
- Submit billing statements to a variety of vendors and customers
- Reconcile daily cash receipts
- Reconcile daily deposits compared to sales
- Contact delinquent accounts in order to collect payment
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions
- Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
- Ability to effectively manage processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and Quickbooks financial software
- Strong desire to be a part of and maintain a strong team atmosphere
- Excellent skills relating to business financial operations
WORKING CONDITIONS: Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
