YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a GIS Software Developer, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the project team and clients to develop custom web-based solutions.
- Developing automation processes, scripts, and routines.
- Designing and building solutions within a remote team environment, utilizing central source control and adhering to standard operating procedures, including code reviews and documentation.
- Developing test plans, implementing unit tests, and test scripts.
- Managing tasks and tracking work, documentation, status, and results in a primarily agile development environment.
CORE REQUIREMENTS:
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
- Proficiency in JavaScript, including document object model manipulation.
- Experience with React or another modern JavaScript framework such as Vue, Ember, or Angular.
- Must have experience using GIS software
- Demonstrated proficiency using version control software.
- Experience developing HTML/CSS.
- Understanding of geospatial concepts and visualization.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- BS or BA degree in computer science, geography, GIS, engineering, or a related field (Industry and work experience can be substituted for education).
- 3-5 years of demonstrated experience developing software solutions at any level.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with the ArcGIS Platform, especially in development.
- Experience developing responsive web applications.
- Knowledge of Node.js, Python, or .NET.
- Experience interfacing with REST APIs.
- Knowledge of RDBMS systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, and/or PostgreSQL).
- Links to GitHub (or similar) projects or publicly available applications demonstrating front-end development skills.
