YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :
In your role as a Structural Bridge Inspector, your primary duties will include :
- Performing routine inspections on infrastructure, including movable bridges, retaining walls, and culverts.
- Recording inspection results through detailed reports, photos, and sketches, confirming compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Evaluating the performance of materials, connections, and structural components to ensure they meet safety and design standards.
- Confirming structures adhere to standards set by organizations like the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS).
- Suggest necessary repairs, rehabilitation, or replacements to maintain bridge safety and longevity.
- Operating tools like ultrasonic testers, ground-penetrating radar, drones, or bucket trucks to access and assess hard-to-reach areas.
