About The Role And The Team

The mission of the Core Product Excellence team is to improve how we build and launch products that Buyers and Sellers around the world love. We are dedicated to optimizing every stage of the product development lifecycle—streamlining processes, accelerating delivery, and empowering cross-functional teams to focus on outcomes and magical customer experiences. Our team sits within the Core Product function at eBay and reports directly into the Chief Product Officer. If you’re excited about shaping the way great products come to life and improving experiences for millions, we’d love for you to join us!

We are hiring a Director of Program Management to lead critical, high-impact work across eBay’s Seller Experience team. This team builds the platforms and tools that millions of sellers rely on to list items, fulfill orders, and grow their businesses on eBay.

This is a high-stakes leadership role. You will lead a team of senior technical program and portfolio managers who are responsible for driving decision-making, resolving blockers, and ensuring delivery across engineering, product, design, operations, and executive partners. This team is responsible for the outcome—not just the process. You’ll be expected to understand the technical details, challenge assumptions, and push for clarity and momentum across complex, multi-team efforts across a global enterprise. You’ll also partner closely with product operations and transformation leaders to improve how eBay plans, builds, and delivers products at scale. Your work will directly impact the quality and speed of delivery for our most important seller initiatives.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Lead the Seller Experience initiatives and program delivery process end to end; drive operational discipline and remove friction from planning, development, and release cycles.
  • Deliver eBay’s highest-priority product initiatives for sellers—on time, with quality, and aligned to business goals.
  • Partner with engineering, product, design, and operations leaders to turn strategy into clear roadmaps and execution plans.
  • Align cross-functional partners on priorities and dependencies to ensure timely decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Build clear, repeatable practices that improve speed, coordination, and consistency across the product lifecycle.
  • Identify risks early and take direct action to resolve issues before they impact delivery.
  • Lead and grow a high-performing team of technical program and portfolio managers focused on delivery and accountability.
  • Define and track team OKRs that measure delivery velocity, execution quality, cross-functional coordination, and seller satisfaction.
  • Lead critical product reviews and drive the operating rhythm across Seller Experience.
  • Represent program progress and challenges to senior leadership with clarity, context, and confidence.
  • Develop a culture of ownership, urgency, and outcome-driven thinking within your team and across partner groups.

What You Will Bring

  • 10 years of technical program management experience leading large-scale technical programs in complex, global product organizations.
  • 7 years leading large teams of senior program and portfolio managers, with a focus on delivery, accountability, and results.
  • A strong technical foundation with the ability to engage deeply in engineering, architecture, and systems discussions.
  • Deep understanding of Agile and iterative development processes, and how to scale them across multiple teams and product lines.
  • Experience establishing and evolving program management practices and operations within a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience operating in large, matrixed organizations—with a validated ability to handle dependencies and align priorities across product, engineering, design, operations, legal, finance, and executive teams.
  • A clear track record of driving programs involving multiple partners, time zones, business functions, and technical platforms.
  • Success leading delivery across multi-layered organizations where influence, negotiation, and relationship-building are key to execution.
  • Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to translate detail into insight and deliver clear narratives to senior leaders.
  • Data- and outcome-driven approach to decision making; fluent in using delivery metrics, KPIs, and financial targets to track progress and drive accountability.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical or business field required; advanced degree (MBA, MS) is a plus.an
