About the team and the role :
eBay's Focus Categories engineering team is looking for an outstanding back end Engineer who is ready to work with modern web technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking organization that’s always pushing boundaries. The ideal candidate has experience in design, development, test, deployment, maintenance, and enhancement software solutions along with a firm understanding of Java,GraphQL / Rest APIs, Messaging Systems, RDBMS / NOSQL, Containers, software Infrastructure.

What you will accomplish :
- Independently lead complex technical initiatives within and beyond your team.
- Drive technical direction and roadmap, leads across domain teams and guides others towards the right technical decisions.
- Responsible for one or more large functional areas within the product, possessing in-depth knowledge and expertise. Demonstrate strong systems mindset, go beyond immediate needs, proactively addressing performance, security, and future-proofing solutions.
- You will have complete, end-to-end ownership and responsibility of projects, driving them from conception to successful implementation.
- Change agency to set high bar and uplevel across teams on culture, process and engineering practices.
- Empower teams through effective collaboration, knowledge sharing, and tool building.
