Position Summary
This position is responsible for the daily management of tax and banking personnel and related activities. Responsibilities include handling tax compliance for payroll clients, managing the daily funding of client payroll, taxes, and billing, and establishing and implementing best practices.
Essential Functions
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Tax & Banking Team.
- Oversee tax compliance, including the accurate and timely preparation and filing of quarterly/annual tax returns, W-2s, and other required withholdings and tax payments.
- Stay updated on tax law changes and policies to ensure compliance.
- Manage daily payroll funding and verification processes, resolving issues with checks and ACH transactions, and expediting same-day direct deposit requests.
- Oversee account and billing reconciliation and auditing.
- Partner with federal, state, and local tax agencies.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to streamline departmental operations and optimize resource utilization.
- Identify development and training needs for team members through coaching, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions to achieve departmental and individual performance goals.
- Plan and manage human capital capacity to meet operational needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners to deliver value-added business solutions and best-in-class client services.
- Consistently model the organization’s core values and foster a culture of collaboration.
- Demonstrate and uphold a high standard of support orientation and professionalism.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position QualificationsEducation:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance (preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant expertise, preferably in a PEO, payroll company, or customer support environment.
- Experience with the Evolution payroll system, Workforce Ready, and MasterTax Payroll Software (preferred).
- Knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and banking regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, multitask effectively, and manage multiple activities simultaneously.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
