We are opening a new facility in Cedar Falls, Iowa and looking for an Material Planner / Customer Service Representative.
About the Role:
We are looking for an individual with outstanding people and organizational skills to manage our ongoing business relationships with a set group of our existing customers. Responsibilities will include entering customer orders and forecast on a weekly basis, managing all customer open orders, resolving issues, facilitating customer requests, and coordinating on-time delivery. The candidate must be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team. Will work to build and maintain a win-win relationship with customer contacts through both phone and email correspondence and help solve day-to-day issues. We are looking for someone who can thrive in a small company atmosphere that values efficiency and detailed work.
Responsibilities:
- Review, process, and monitor customer orders and forecasts for assigned customers
- Independently manage key customer accounts, utilizing customer portals to download/upload order information, product details, analyze data, and utilize open order reports to meet customer delivery requirements
- Manage incoming customer calls and emails regarding pricing and availability, emergency order entry, backorder status, and tracking/shipping information
- Manage all ongoing business matters for assigned customer accounts
- Provide world class customer service to exceed customer expectations
- Resolve customer complaints verbally and electronically via email
- Maintaining EDI feeds and connections for multiple customers
- Initiate and expedite production with supply chain team based on customer requirements
- Escalate customer issues to Customer Service Manager as needed
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably with a focus on customer service
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- Experience with EDI
- Outstanding Interpersonal Skills
- Strong Written and Verbal Skills Required
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with attention to detail and organizational skills
- Capable of Forming and Maintaining Relationships with Customers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong knowledge of Excel
- Strong Understanding of Global Supply Chain, including ocean and air shipments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains Software, preferred
- Experience with EDI, preferred
